How Students Attitude Can Decide Their Performance
Performance refers to the output of subjects in the external and internal examination results from which the students input in each subject is chosen as way to measureacademic performance. It is being conducted in a very reliable manner and it has a lot of validity.
Students that are thirsty, serious and ever ready to tap from the ever flowing spring of knowledge from the teacher will definitely achieve his/her set goals. As a saying says “ Aim at the tree top, you will not leave the ground, aim at the sky, you will reach the tree top.”
Students’ attitude towards learning goes on a long way in deciding their performance positively or negatively. There are so many deciding factor on this, such as prior educational background, language, aptitude, willingness, unserious-ness and non chalant attitude. All these problems resulted in students’ poor performance in English Language.
Students’ attitude towards learning ads it own measure to their performance. According to Ellis (1990), Gardner (1980), Krashen (1981); attitude may also play an influential role on the rate of English Language development in formal classroom learning.
